Newfoundland Christmas Slush Recipes
Newfoundland Christmas Slush is a Batch-made Frozen Beverage that packs a citrusy Punch.
In a recent episode of Strange Truths and Tall Tales I asked Instagram food blogger Jeremy Whey (@stuffthatinyourgob) about his Newfoundland Christmas Slush Making Traditions.
He shared his recipe. I’ve transcribed it here alongside some recipes collected from friends.

NFLD Christmas Slush Recipes
Jeremy’s Christmas Slush
Ingredients
1 cup sugar
6 cups water
2 cans of frozen concentrated orange juice
2 cans of frozen concentrated lemonade
1 large can pineapple juice
1 flask of vodka
Method
Boil the water, stir in the sugar. Add the remaining ingredients and freeze. To serve, scoop slush into a glass and top with as much 7-Up or Ginger Ale as you’d like.
NFLD Christmas Slush #2 (no pineapple)
Ingredients
1 can frozen orange juice
1 can frozen lemonade
3/4 c. sugar
2 c. vodka
5 c. water
Method
Mix together and freeze for one week. Serve with ginger ale.
Nfld Christmas Slush #3 (with tea)
48 oz can pineapple juice
26 oz vodka (or rum)
16 oz frozen orange juice
2 cups strong tea (or coffee)
16 oz frozen lemonade
7-Up, Sprite or Coke (for serving)
Combine pineapple juice, orange juice, lemonade, tea and vodka. Freeze. To serve, put 2 scoops in glass and fill with your choice of pop (eg. 7-Up, Sprite or Coke).
