I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm by Kim Stockwood

On of the things I like about December is the chance to take a nostalgic wander through holiday albums of Christmases past. One of my pleasent re-discoveries this year has been Kim Stockwood’s I Love Santa album from 2006.

If you aren’t familiar with her rendition of Irving Berlin’s ‘I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm,’ you’re missing out on some serious retro-fun energy. This version is delightful and as sweet as… I don’t know… a candy cane… or maybe a candy cane martini (more on that in a minute).

It’s playful, jazzy, and sprinkled with a vintage vibe that’ll have you tapping your toes with “holiday cheer.” Stockwood’s warm vocals capture all the charm of the classic tune while giving it a fresh, twist that feels like the best combination of retro and contemporary.

So, is it like candy canes? Sweet, festive, and a little old-fashioned? Sure. But maybe it’s more like a Candy Cane Martini: fun, modern, and just a little boozy (because what’s the holidays without a little sparkle?). I won’t split hairs, it’s totally worth revisiting in either case!

Go ahead — add it to your playlist, crank the volume, and enter Kim Stockwood’s Marshmallow World… where love keeps you warmer than any fireplace ever could.

It definitely deserves some re-playing.

You should also check out Stockwood’s latest release, Cryin’ Too.
