What is Product of Newfoundland?

Product of Newfoundland is a blog explores Newfoundland & Labrador’s unique history, folklore, and culture. Discover quirky Newfoundland stories, local legends, tall tales, haunted places, ghost stories, strange traditions, and forgotten bits of island history. Through blog posts and podcast episodes, Product of Newfoundland shares the true-ish stories that make Newfoundland one of the most fascinating places in Canada.

The voice behind Product of Newfoundland and Strange Truths & Tall Tales belongs to Robert Hiscock. He grew up on the edge of Terra Nova National Park in Newfoundland’s prettiest-named community — Happy Adventure — and has spent more than 20 years exploring the island’s weird history, local culture, and strange stories that make this place truly unique. When he’s not working on the blog or podcast, you’ll find him listening to local music, adding to his ever-growing tattoo collection, or hanging out with his husband and their two loyal Labrador retrievers. Robert doesn’t exactly believe in ghosts, but he’s all in for a good true-ish ghost story — after all, some of the best tales are the ones that keep you guessing.
