Midnight Watch: Moonshiner ep

Midnight Watch, Newfoundland’s alt-country collective, has delivered again with their latest EP, Moonshiner. This four-song collection features three fresh takes on timeless folk and country classics, plus an original track that holds its own among the classics. Each song offers something special, and honestly, I can’t even pick a favourite—they’re all equally worth your time.

That said, I’m constantly singing ‘Hummingbird.’

The band describes themselves as “an unlikely collection of musicians,” and that uniqueness comes through in their sound. They strike a perfect balance between honouring traditional roots and creating something entirely their own.

I’ve been hooked since their beautiful track ‘Evergreen,’ which later appeared on their 2024 album Ghost Hours. Moonshiner continues to prove that Midnight Watch is a band that deserves your attention.

If you’re into heartfelt storytelling and authentic music, don’t miss out on this EP.

Midnight Watch is the real deal.

I’m obsessed with music from Newfoundland and Labrador…

It’s fresh, wild, and full of surprises. The artists here are pumping out so much new stuff, it’s hard to keep up. So, I started a playlist of my faves—tons of genres, but the only rule is they’re local and totally repeat-worthy. I update it regularly, so follow along (on Spotify, Apple Music or Youtube).

Trust me, there’s a ton of good stuff coming your way.
